Sock HQ has ventured out again, post our busiest Christmas ever……we are quite sure that nearly everyone must have had lovely socks this year, and they went all over the world.

We have heard some terrific tales of the adventures some of our socks have been on, and our pinnacle must be when we received a call from the "Downton Abbey" production office, as they needed our socks for the fabulous shooting scenes in the programme….a proud moment indeed!

This year we will be adding to our repertoire, and welcome your ideas, as always. We have so many friends on Facebook (link) and Twitter (link), and love to hear from you all.

Meanwhile, we thought that these wise words were good to ponder over……..

Well, here we are in October, summer gone (what there was of it!) - the new site is up and the New Season just started - Whatever your bird, we hope you get a good one.

We have been busier than ever with our exclusive designs proving to be our best yet……thanks for all the lovely comments.

The final finishing touches are being put together for this season’s website... ready for the great unveiling ahead of the Glorious Twelfth! Last minute checks, copy reading, late entries etc., It all comes together.

This year, we are hoping to see more of our European customers – we are delighted that we now send socks to so many countries, and we have learnt all sorts of socky things we didn’t know….for example, Garters, in French are sometimes referred to as Pompons…Brilliant! We’d love to hear more from all of you, so do get in touch.

The epic photo-shoot of this season’s designs begins – The office is strewn with stockings, garters, it all sounds slightly suspect, but we can assure you it is all very professionally done! It can become slightly surreal with “legs” here and there, and sometimes getting the colour exactly right for you to see on the screen, can be difficult, but we persevere to give you the best possible look at the stock.

The dogs (we have 9 working dogs between us!) get excited as they know they will be helping on the location shoot (you will spot them throughout the site probably) or have a look on our Facebook page at our Photo Gallery. You can also follow us on Twitter and find out what is happening at SockHQ.

There is a buzz in the office as our new designs are made up and arrive... some difference in opinion on colour combinations, but it’s usually amicably sorted out…we are very democratic!

You will also find us deciding which other products to add, to compliment the socks – Did you know you can also get boot socks and walking socks, all of which we test and use ourselves, so we know they are good. There is also a selection of proper “Country Clothing” – some of the tweeds we helped design too, and the shooting jackets are very popular.

We start designing our range for next season – discussions can become quite colourful…literally!

We look at different yarns, how they feel, and design and decide on the New Seasons’ patterns for the “bolder” and indeed, very popular socks. We spend hours deliberating over garters, tassels and other bits and bobs. We also have a proper selection for women – Ladies Shooting gear has been hard to find, and we have a well earned longstanding reputation for presenting a super range of ladies’ and children’s shooting socks.
