When I set out to design The Ashton shooting sock, my aim was to create something vibrant and full of personality—perfect for those who love a splash of colour and want their socks to make a statement.
The Ashton has consistently been one of our best sellers, season after season, and its standout feature is the use of eight different colours in the turnover, the maximum possible, creating a bold and unforgettable look.
Made in the UK from a durable Merino wool blend, The Ashton feels incredible on your feet while maintaining its timeless style. It has truly become a flagship design for The Shooting Sock Company. Each colourway is limited to a two-year production run before being retired, ensuring our collection stays fresh and exclusive. The tri-colour garter adds the perfect finishing touch.
This season, as we celebrate our 20th year, I wanted to introduce something new and truly flagship—The Ashton in Lipstick Pink. To be honest, it’s a sock that divides opinion! When the sample first arrived, I wasn’t sure, but my husband convinced me it had to go into production. I’ve grown to love it for so many reasons—its vibrant personality, its fearless colourway. What do you think?
The Lipstick Pink base is paired with Rioja, Kingfisher, Teal Blue, Aubergine, Orchid, Moss Green, and Toasted Almond accents. The tri-colour garter features Kingfisher, Lipstick Pink, and Moss Green, tying the whole design together beautifully.
Our socks are knitted from a variety of yarns, all of which are selected for their performance.
A Merino wool and acrylic blend is an ideal yarn choice for shooting socks, combining the best of both fibres. Merino wool offers excellent warmth, breathability, and natural moisture-wicking properties, keeping feet dry and comfortable during long days. The addition of acrylic enhances durability and elasticity, helping the socks maintain their shape and resist wear over time. Using Italian spun premium yarn ensures a soft, high-quality finish with consistent strength, making these socks both luxurious and long-lasting for all your adventures in the field.

For your convenience most of the socks in the range are machine washable (please check individual packaging/product details).
However, please follow our simple guidelines to ensure happy socks:
Turn the socks inside out before washing
Use wool friendly detergent - avoid biological detergents and preferably non-bio's as even these can contain bleaching agents
Use a 30°C wool wash programme
Use a gentle spin programme; 600 rpm or less, is ideal.
Dry flat after washing
