One of the things we have learnt over more than 20 years is that everyone has slightly different requirements from their shooting socks. Some customers want warmth and cushioning for long days in wellingtons, whilst others prefer a lighter cotton sock or a more traditional wool design. Our Mordiford is a particular favourite, with its classic 4 x 2 ribbed leg, plain turnover and comfortable cushioned foot. It is a proper hardworking shooting sock, designed to cope with the demands of a day in the field without any unnecessary fuss. For those who prefer cotton, our Bosbury is another favourite, with its fully cushioned terry foot providing that extra bit of comfort and warmth during the colder months. The Allensmore offers a cushioned cotton sole, whilst the Dodmarsh is possibly the simplest sock in our entire collection, with a straightforward design that works beautifully with almost anything. Each has its place, and we wouldn't want to be without any of them.
As with all our collections, we remain passionate about British manufacturing, working with specialist UK knitters whose experience and craftsmanship are so important to the quality of our socks. We put just as much thought into our simpler designs as we do our most colourful creations, considering everything from the yarn and fit to the way a sock feels after a full day on your feet. Our plain shooting socks are made to be worn and enjoyed, whether for shooting, beating, picking-up, walking or everyday country life. They might not always be the first socks to catch your eye, but they are often the ones you find yourself reaching for time and time again. Sometimes the simplest things really are the best.
