When I designed The Ashton shooting sock, I wanted to create something truly special. If you love colour and want your socks to say a little something about you, then The Ashton is the perfect choice. This sock has become a guaranteed best seller season after season, and I think that’s because of its bold yet wearable style. What makes The Ashton stand out is that it uses eight different colours in the turnover — the maximum number possible — giving it that striking, eye-catching look I wanted to achieve. Made from a durable Merino wool blend, the sock feels fantastic to wear and holds up really well over time. It’s become one of our signature designs here at The Shooting Sock Company. Each colourway is limited to a two-year production run before it’s retired, keeping our collection fresh and exclusive. The tri-colour garter, included with each sock, adds that final touch of thoughtful detail. This year, I’m especially excited to introduce Truffle — a brand new shade in our range. I wanted to create a muted, earthy palette that feels warm and sophisticated. The Truffle base is combined with Bison, Fern Green, Linen, Sky Blue, Airforce Blue, Toasted Almond, and Mid Grey. The tri-colour garter features Fern Green with Truffle and Pine Green, perfectly complementing the overall look. Designing The Ashton in Truffle has been a real joy, and I hope you love wearing them as much as I enjoyed creating them.

Delivery & Returns

Our socks are knitted from a variety of yarns, all of which are selected for their performance.

A Merino wool and acrylic blend is an ideal yarn choice for shooting socks, combining the best of both fibres. Merino wool offers excellent warmth, breathability, and natural moisture-wicking properties, keeping feet dry and comfortable during long days. The addition of acrylic enhances durability and elasticity, helping the socks maintain their shape and resist wear over time. Using Italian spun premium yarn ensures a soft, high-quality finish with consistent strength, making these socks both luxurious and long-lasting for all your adventures in the field.

For your convenience most of the socks in the range are machine washable (please check individual packaging/product details).

However, please follow our simple guidelines to ensure happy socks:

Turn the socks inside out before washing
Use wool friendly detergent - avoid biological detergents and preferably non-bio's as even these can contain bleaching agents
Use a 30°C wool wash programme
Use a gentle spin programme; 600 rpm or less, is ideal.
Dry flat after washing

Delivery

UK standard delivery is free on orders over £50 and usually takes 3-5 working days. We also offer next-day (including 10:30am), Saturday, and Sunday delivery for UK addresses. Orders must be placed by 2pm the previous working day.
