Our designs are shaped by first-hand experience of shooting, beating and picking-up throughout the season. We understand that what works beautifully when stood on a peg may not be the most practical choice for a wet morning in the beating line, which is why we try to cater for as many different needs as possible. Alongside our more intricate patterns and colourful turnovers, we have straightforward, hardworking favourites such as the Mordiford, a traditional wool shooting sock with a cushioned foot, classic ribbed leg and plain turnover. For those who prefer cotton, the Bosbury offers a wonderfully comfortable alternative with its fully cushioned terry foot, making it a firm favourite for winter boots. At the other end of the collection, our more elaborate designs bring together carefully chosen colours, distinctive patterns and coordinating garter ties. We also continue our tradition of naming our exclusive designs after local villages, hamlets, rivers and shoots, so those familiar with our corner of Herefordshire may recognise a few names.
We remain passionate about British design and manufacturing, and every pair of socks and garter ties in our collection is knitted here in the UK by specialist manufacturers whose knowledge and craftsmanship we value enormously. We work closely with them to turn our ideas into finished designs, combining traditional skills with fresh colour combinations and thoughtful details. Our exclusive collection is available only online from The Shooting Sock Company, and it is this opportunity to create something individual, rather than simply follow what is already available, that continues to inspire us. After more than 20 years, I still get just as excited about seeing a new design come off the knitting machines, and I hope that enthusiasm comes through in the socks we make.
