The Ashton is unique in that it incorporates eight different colours in the turnover, which is the maximum amount that can be used, resulting in a bold eye-catching sock.
The Ashton shooting socks are made from a durable Merino wool blend; this sock not only feels heavenly but looks the part too and has become one of our leading socks! The sock is sold with tri-colour garter ties.
Our socks are knitted from a variety of yarns, all of which are selected for their performance.
A Merino wool and acrylic blend is an ideal yarn choice for shooting socks, combining the best of both fibres. Merino wool offers excellent warmth, breathability, and natural moisture-wicking properties, keeping feet dry and comfortable during long days. The addition of acrylic enhances durability and elasticity, helping the socks maintain their shape and resist wear over time. For your convenience most of the socks in the range are machine washable (please check individual packaging/product details).
However, please follow our simple guidelines to ensure happy socks:
Turn the socks inside out before washing
Use wool friendly detergent - avoid biological detergents and preferably non-bio's as even these can contain bleaching agents
Use a 30°C wool wash programme
Use a gentle spin programme; 600 rpm or less, is ideal.
Dry flat after washing
