By popular demand, The Shooting Sock Company is proud to present the Stretford shooting sock, crafted with a cushion sole and a stylish contrast turnover — a perfect blend of classic design and modern comfort. Featuring a timeless 4 x 2 rib pattern, The Stretford is new for this season and available in three stunning colours, including Bordeaux and Seaweed Green.
The cushion sole uses terry loop knitting only on the underside of the foot, providing enhanced comfort and insulation exactly where you need it most. This sock is a must-have staple for every outdoor-loving man and woman. Whether you’re out on the peg or simply exploring the countryside, The Stretford offers reliable performance and understated style.
Knitted in the UK from a premium blend of 80% Merino wool and 19% nylon, it delivers a superior soft feel without compromising on durability — the perfect balance of warmth, strength, and softness. The nylon reinforcement adds longevity without affecting the natural handle of the Merino wool. Available in sizes 3 through 14, The Stretford fits the whole family, making it a versatile choice for all. An optional garter is also available separately for those who prefer extra support to keep socks comfortably in place. It helps regulate temperature by keeping feet warm in cold conditions and cool when it’s warm, while effectively managing sweat to prevent discomfort. For your convenience most of the socks in the range are machine washable (please check individual packaging/product details).
However, please follow our simple guidelines to ensure happy socks:
Turn the socks inside out before washing
Use wool friendly detergent - avoid biological detergents and preferably non-bio's as even these can contain bleaching agents
Use a 30°C wool wash programme
Use a gentle spin programme; 600 rpm or less, is ideal.
Dry flat after washing
