In response to many requests, we’ve created the Stretford shooting sock featuring a luxurious cushion sole with a distinctive contrast turnover. Knitted in a classic 4 x 2 rib, this new design for the season is available in three beautiful colours, including the rich Seaweed & Amber Gold.
With a terry loop cushion sole on the underside of the foot, the Stretford delivers superior comfort and insulation exactly where it’s needed for those long days outdoors. Crafted from 80% Merino wool and 19% nylon, this sock offers the perfect balance of softness and durability — just enough nylon to provide strength without affecting the supple handle of the Merino fibres.
A true essential for every outdoor enthusiast, whether you’re out in the field or enjoying countryside adventures, the Stretford is a reliable and stylish addition to your sock collection. Proudly knitted in the UK and available in foot sizes 3 to 14, there’s a perfect fit for everyone in the family. To complete your look and keep your socks securely in place, an optional garter is available for purchase separately. We’re delighted with this sock and confident it will remain a firm favourite in our range for many seasons ahead.

Merino wool is an excellent yarn choice for shooting socks thanks to its superior softness, breathability, and natural moisture-wicking abilities. It helps regulate temperature by keeping feet warm in cold conditions and cool when it’s warm, while effectively managing sweat to prevent discomfort. Merino wool is also naturally elastic and durable, providing a comfortable fit that holds up well to the rigours of long walks, making it perfect for high-performance socks.

For your convenience most of the socks in the range are machine washable (please check individual packaging/product details).
However, please follow our simple guidelines to ensure happy socks:
Turn the socks inside out before washing
Use wool friendly detergent - avoid biological detergents and preferably non-bio's as even these can contain bleaching agents
Use a 30°C wool wash programme
Use a gentle spin programme; 600 rpm or less, is ideal.
Dry flat after washing
